A Rose For Emily

The story, "A Rose For Emily", is one of those stories that kind of leaves you hanging. You don't receive full detail and at the end it makes a person wonder what the story was really about. In the sense that Emily was once a young, beautiful lady who throughout the years had grown into a crabby, old lady. She was heartbroken when the love of her life left her and before that her father had passed on to a better place. She didn't seem to handle life's little obstacles all that well and in turn became a hermit and refused to go out in public. Instead, she had her butler do all of the errands and shopping, in which he never talked either. After many years of sadness she finally passed and the town's people finally felt like they had reason to feel pity and they came to the funeral. I feel as if this story has so much more to tell than just the basic knowledge that is put down on paper. If you really look past it, its a love story within a tragedy. Miss Emily Grierson had finally passed on but know one really knows if she was ever truly happy again, especially after Homer left her. This story was a great read!
