A Christmas Story

The woman in the story can't sleep because she's worried about the heat making the silos burst outside. Will, her husband thinks she should go to a doctor for some sleeping medication so she can make it through the night. The heat is creating despair among farmers, which he is worried about and she's worried about her family's safety.

Will is flying down the road in his son's plane, looking at his past (the Nordstrom farm) and looking down at his future (into town), if the weather doesn't stabilize. Though the ride was bumpy at first, he learned how to manage the plane and got into good movement which may represent his life on the farm or his future life elsewhere if things don't go his way.

The story left me hanging. I wanted to know more from the beginning and the end. I dug for a life lesson and there might not have been one in the first place, but I guess it's all what you take from a piece. I saw a man struggling between two life decisions and what's best for his family which is a common problem for many people today.
